Our finding the grave of VMI New Market Cadet William S. Carmichael in Augusta, Georgia has been a positive bonding experience for the alumni in this area. We think all alumni chapters would benefit by similar experiences. We have therefore started a project to locate as many of the New Market Cadet graves as possible and post directions to and photographs of all that we locate. Please see our database at this link:

To date, we have determined the cemeteries where 93% of the New Market cadets are buried and have photographs of 83% of the graves. We have location of death information on all but two cadets.
